Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Lettuce Eat ("the Platform"), operated at letteat.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
What Lettuce Eat Is
Lettuce Eat is an online marketplace that connects local growers and food producers ("Growers") with restaurants, chefs, and other food buyers ("Buyers") in the Kansas City area and beyond. We provide the platform for discovery and communication. We are not a party to any transaction between Growers and Buyers.
Platform Role and Limitations
Lettuce Eat is a connection platform only. We do not buy, sell, store, transport, or handle any food products. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or availability of any listings. We do not verify or endorse any certifications, licenses, or claims made by users, though users may upload documentation for Buyers to review directly. All transactions, payments, delivery logistics, and food safety compliance are the sole responsibility of the parties involved.
User Accounts
You must create an account to list products, post requests, send messages, or leave reviews. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must provide accurate information in your profile. You may not create accounts for the purpose of spamming, misleading other users, or any fraudulent activity. We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
Grower Responsibilities
Growers are solely responsible for complying with all applicable local, state, and federal food safety laws and regulations. This includes obtaining any required licenses or permits before selling products. Lettuce Eat provides a food safety reference page for informational purposes only; it is not legal advice. Growers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including product descriptions, pricing, and availability.
Buyer Responsibilities
Buyers are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before purchasing from any Grower. This includes verifying certifications, inspecting products, and ensuring that purchases meet their own regulatory requirements. Buyers should independently confirm any claims made by Growers on the Platform.
Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the Platform to post false or misleading information, harass or threaten other users, sell illegal products, scrape or collect user data without permission, attempt to circumvent security measures, or use the Platform for any purpose that violates applicable law.
Content and Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of content you post on Lettuce Eat (photos, descriptions, reviews). By posting content, you grant Lettuce Eat a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content on the Platform. You may not post content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
Reviews and Ratings
Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. You may not post fake reviews, review your own profile, or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines.
Limitation of Liability
Lettuce Eat is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lettuce Eat and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, transactions with other users, or any content posted by users. Our total liability for any claim related to the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (which, for free users, is zero).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lettuce Eat and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or any transaction you enter into with another user.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at lettuceatkansas@gmail.com.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the Platform.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to conflict of law principles.
